Supercharging Philanthropy – Salesforce Acquires roundCorner

roundcorner is now part of salesforce.org

Salesforce is just continuing to grow and grow. Officially announced last month, Salesforce broke the news that it will be acquiring roundCorner, an enterprise CRM platform for non-profits and other impact sectors.

The acquisition is sure to bolster the Salesforce Non-Profit cloud and breathe new life and functionality to those businesses already on board.

roundCorner itself holds the title of being the first Salesforce.org Platinum App Partner for the nonprofit market in North America. Unsurprisingly, roundCorner is also a participant in the Slaesforce 1% pledge, where companies pledge to donate 1% of either their time, equity, product or profit to philanthropy.

roundCorner themselves specialize in offering solutions for enterprise nonprofits, higher education and foundations. According to the roundCorner website, more than 200 nonprofits and foundations use its products, including Girl Scouts, City Year, American Red Cross, Skoll Foundation and ASPCA.

The hope for both Salesforce and roundCorner with this deal is to create a more unified and streamlined system for non-profits, helping them to have better systems for fundraising and hopefully be able to make more significant impacts in their respective communities. It’s always nice to think of companies doing good in the world, and enabling others to make things just a little bit better for everyone. This is one of those deals, that yes, while significant financially for both businesses, could also be a huge benefit for all of the non-profits out there who need or are currently using a cloud CRM to handle their business. By combining the robust power of Salesforce with the specific tools of roundCorner, non-profits and philanthropy groups might just be able to do more good in the world, faster, and smarter, than they were able to before.

At this point, it is safe to say that Salesforce is no longer just a simple CRM that enables sales teams. It is more of a world-class business platform, that provides the foundation for any company, in any industry, to build their unique business.
